Counselling & Psychotherapy

Oakville, Burlington, Mississauga, Milton areas for Marriage Counselling, Couples Counselling, Stress and Depression Counselling, Life Transition Counselling Services from Heidi Greenfield MSW RSW

Overview:
I have been a therapist for over 30 years and have worked in a wide variety of settings ranging from psychiatric, children’s mental health, family services to private practice. I bring both a wide breadth of therapeutic expertise and a vast depth of therapeutic experience to my work.

I presently work primarily with adults in individual, couple and group therapy. I have worked with young children, adolescents, adults and seniors.

I have specialized in working with women who have been victims of sexual abuse, spousal abuse and rape.  I have worked with women individually and in groups to improve their self-esteem, enhance their assertive abilities and improve the critical choices they make to improve the quality of their lives.

I have also specialized in working with men who have been abusive to their partners, helping them with concrete skills such as anger management, conflict resolution and improved communication.  I have worked to help men struggle with their own sense of inadequacy and isolation, to enhance their self-esteem, redirect aggressive behaviours to assertive ones and improve the critical choices they make to improve the quality of their lives.

I have extensive experience in facilitating groups and believe group therapy to be the best kept secret in a therapist’s toolbox.
